Your Facial Treatment Is Only the Beginning: Why Home Care Determines Your Results
Professional skin treatments can do some pretty incredible things.
Microchanneling can stimulate the skin’s natural repair response. Chemical peels can accelerate exfoliation and improve tone and texture. Advanced facials can deeply hydrate, exfoliate, and support healthier-looking skin.
But here’s what I wish every client understood:
What happens in the treatment room is only part of the equation.
You may spend an hour with me every four to six weeks, but your skin is working 24/7 in between—dealing with sun exposure, environmental stress, makeup, cleansing, and daily life.
That’s where home care becomes essential.
Treatments + Home Care Work Together
We talked earlier this week about microchanneling and how it triggers a controlled healing response in the skin.
But once you leave the treatment room, your skin continues that work.
Professional treatments create the stimulus.
Home care provides the consistency.
And consistency is what drives real change.
Your Skin Is Always Active
Your skin doesn’t pause between appointments.
It’s constantly managing UV exposure, inflammation, moisture loss, environmental stress, and cell turnover.
Pigmentation continues to form.
Acne can still develop.
Collagen breakdown doesn’t wait for your next facial.
That’s why I don’t see treatments and home care as separate—they’re partners.
A treatment moves you forward. A routine keeps you there.
The Basics Matter Most
Skincare has become overly complicated.
You don’t need a 10-step routine or every trending ingredient.
Most people only need a strong foundation:
Gentle cleanser – supports the skin without stripping it
Moisturizer – strengthens the barrier and improves resilience
Daily sunscreen – protects every result you’re working toward
From there, we can add targeted ingredients like retinoids, vitamin C, niacinamide, azelaic acid, antioxidant serums, or peptides based on your skin’s needs.
But more products don’t mean better results.
More Isn’t Always Better
One of the biggest misconceptions in skincare is that “feeling it work” means it’s effective.
Burning, peeling, and tightness are not goals of daily skincare.
Overloading the skin with too many actives can actually damage the barrier, leading to more sensitivity, inflammation, and breakouts—especially in acne-prone or pigment-prone skin.
Sometimes the best step forward is not adding more.
It’s simplifying.
How I Chose the Skincare Lines I Carry
When I was deciding what skincare lines I wanted to bring into GloWild, I didn’t take that decision lightly.
I spoke with several of my device representatives and asked for their honest recommendations on professional-grade skincare lines that truly support skin health and treatment outcomes. A few of them strongly encouraged me to look into Epionce.
After meeting with my Epionce rep and trying samples myself, I remember waking up the next morning and thinking, this is a line I need to carry.
I have now been using Epionce for about 8 months, and I’ve grown deeply in love with it—not just professionally, but personally. I’ve seen real changes in my own skin: improved barrier function, more balanced hydration, and a healthier overall glow that feels sustainable rather than reactive.
This multi-award-winning skincare line is thoughtfully formulated with plant-derived botanicals to calm chronic inflammation while repairing the skin barrier. The best part is that most Epionce products are approved for pregnant and nursing women and are safe for chemo patients.
FactorFive is another incredible line I work with that takes a very different but equally powerful approach.
This line utilizes human growth factors that work at a cellular level to support skin regeneration and repair. It’s focused on signaling the skin to behave in a more youthful, efficient way—supporting collagen production and overall skin function.
I’ve seen incredible results with FactorFive as well, especially in clients focused on aging concerns, texture, and overall skin rejuvenation.
What I love most is that I don’t have to choose between philosophies—I get to integrate both approaches depending on what the skin needs.
Post-Treatment Care Is Part of the Treatment
This is especially important after procedures like microchanneling.
After controlled skin injury or deep exfoliation, your skin is in a healing phase. This is not the time to experiment with new acids, retinoids, or harsh actives.
Follow your provider’s instructions carefully—post-care is part of the treatment, not an afterthought.
For my microchanneling clients, I provide a post-care kit with growth factors to support healing and regeneration at home.
Once the skin has recovered, a well-built routine helps extend and support your results.
“Professional-Grade” Isn’t the Whole Story
A product isn’t automatically better just because it’s sold in a clinic, and drugstore products aren’t automatically inferior.
What matters is formulation, stability, delivery, and whether it’s right for your skin.
At GloWild, I work with lines like Epionce and FactorFive because they focus on barrier health and cellular support—but even then, not every product is right for every person.
The goal is never more products. It’s the right products.
Consistency Wins Every Time
The best routine is not the most expensive or the most complex—it’s the one you’ll actually use.
A simple, consistent routine will always outperform a complicated one that changes every few weeks.
Skincare is a long game built on small daily habits: cleansing gently, moisturizing properly, protecting your skin, and using targeted actives when needed.
Professional treatments can accelerate progress.
But your facial treatments are only the beginning.
Think of treatments as the accelerator and home care as the engine—you need both to move forward.
If you’re unsure whether your routine is helping or holding you back, bring your products to your next appointment. I’m always happy to help you simplify, refine, and focus on what actually works.
Healthy skin doesn’t have to be complicated.
It just needs the right plan.
